LK Advani cancels Somnath visit as wife admitted to AIIMS

Former Deputy Prime Minister, senior BJP leader and Lok Sabha MP from Gandhinagar, Shri LK Advani who was to welcome President Shri Pranab Mukherjee at Somnath Mandir in capacity of Trustee of Shri Somnath Trust today had to cancel his scheduled visit to Somnath due to poor health of his wife Smt Kamla Advani who has been hospitalized in Delhi.

The wife of senior BJP leader LK Advani was today admitted to AIIMS here due to health problems.

According to doctors at the premier institute, Kamla Advani, who is in her early eighties, has been put in the ICU of the premier institute and her condition is at present “stable”.

“Kamla Advani was admitted to AIIMS today at 6 AM with fever and urinary tract infection. She is under close monitoring by a team of super specialists comprising urologists, geriatric medicine and intensive care specialists.

“Her condition is presently stable, she is maintaining blood pressure and oxygenation without any external support,” said Prof Neerja Bhatla, Chairperson, Media and Protocol Division at All-India Institute Of Medical Science (AIIMS).

According to sources, the wife of the former deputy prime minister complained of breathing problems early in the morning following which she was rushed to AIIMS.
