JDU to decide fate of Bharuch district panchayat
December 03, 2015
Bharuch
Once again Janata Dal(United) has key to decide who would come to power in Bharuch district panchayat.
JDU which has otherwise no major presence in Gujarat enjoys some organizational structure in rural Bharuch, only due to local strongman and MLA Chhotubhai Vasava whose influence is limited to Jhagadia belt. Vasava is also president of Gujarat unit of JDU.
Congress has won 13 seats in Bharuch district panchayat while BJP has won 12. JDU has won 9 seats and therefore new political body will be formed with support of JDU. Bharuch had given similar verdict in past too and finally BJP could manage to control the district panchayat body.
