As many as 249 are booked for driving at the speed above 100 km/hour by Umra police station under IPC section 279 and 188. Of them 208 have faced procedure. Interesting fact is that all of them are caught driving above 100 speed by Speed Violation Detectio Cameras on Dumas road based Gaurav Path.

Surat Police has installed two Speed Violation Detection Cameras on this road opposite ISCON mall. The cameras click those who cross 100 km/hour speed. Between 5th of August and 1st of December 240 two/four wheelers are caught and clicked by cameras. Police have arrested 208 and seized 2 school buses, 20 bikes, 180 cars/SUVs.

Surat Police has four such cameras, two of which are installed at Athwa gate. Surat Police has plan to install 56 cameras in couple of months at 14 locations. The cameras work smarly. If police enter particular registration number of vehicle in network, the camera would alert the police control room, as soon as that particular registration number vehicle is caught in its range.

Speed Violation Detection Camera has also caught over 700 vehicles in speed range of 60-100.
