Gujarat Police forms Social Media Tracking team

Gujarat Police Chief DGP Thakur has formed Social Media Tracking Force to keep track over unlawful activities on online social media pletforms.

IG Manoj Agrawal has been appointed as head of this committee. The committee has three SPs and 2 DySP level officers. This six-member committee will hand over its report once every month to DGP.

Recently the state witnessed violant Patidar agitation in which social media was used massively for communication. In recent months, terror organization ISIS has been found luring youths using social media. In this backdrop, constant watch over activities on social media has become important.

The team formed by state DGP includes IG Law and Order Manoj Agrawal, ATS SP Himanshu Shukla, Ahmedabad Crime Branch DCP Dipen Bhadran and IB SP and Ahmedabad Police Control Room DCP Sunil Joshi. The team also has Morbi DySP Rajdipsinh Jhala and ATS DySP Kiran Patel as members.

IPS Manoj Agrawal has done Masters and he is also Diploma in Cyber Security while Himanshu Shukla is BE Electrical and Communication. Dipen Bhadran is Electronics engineer.
