Gujarat to host Defence Conclave 2015 to boost defence manufacturing

Defence industry is going through a change and with its huge potential it is on its way of acquiring a global stature. To further the adage ‘Change Brings Oppurtunity’, Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) is organizing the Defence Conclave 2015, a two day conference on the defence manufacturing sector, scheduled on 9 -10 December 2015 at Crowne Plaza, Ahmedabad, Gujarat.

This Conclave will build on the positives of the “Make in India” vision for boosting the defence equipment production sector at the state level, to realize the national goal. This Conclave will bring together high-level government representatives, key industry, and academia to discuss, deliberate and exchange ideas, viewpoints and knowledge about critical defence offset policies, sector analyses and review choices of technology available globally for the manufacturing and production of indigenous defense systems.

The conclave will attempt to bring together a collective pool of thoughts of the best in the Defence manufacturing sector with an objective to address key challenges that would lead sustenance and growth in Defence Manufacturing in the country.

Gujarat has a plethora of companies manufacturing engineering goods which can be further aligned with the Defence offset sector’s requirement. With skilled intensive manufacturing capabilities and a robust infrastructure, Gujarat has the right ingredients to become a key link in the Indian Defence supply chain.
