Clash over pollution: Jetpur to observe bandh on Thursday

The issue of pollution in Jetpur town of Saurashtra region has taken a new turn.
Gunvantbhai Ashra who owns New Khatau Textile unit in Samakantha area of Jetpur has alleged that he was attacked by former member of local municipality Samantbhai Maldebhai Sanjva(Ahir), wife Kaviben and son Yogesh alias Kano attacked and injured him after issuing threat that if smoke coming out from his factory doesn’t stop, he would have to bear consequences.
Samantbhai with his family had been on fast for 30 days against the problem of pollution. He was assured by incharge Mamlatdar Nikhil Mehta about solution to his problem, after which he had withdrawn his fast agitation.
Local saree industry led by Jetpur Dying Association and Chamber has given bandh call on Thursday against the incident of attack on Saree unit owner.
