Another attack on traffic cop in Vadodara, 2 including NRI youth held

Vadodara

Barely two days after a sensational mob attack on a traffic constable in the city, two drunken youth including an NRI today beat up another traffic constable on duty for stopping their car here.

The act of the culprits identified as Krutrarth Pandya ( an NRI from Australia) and his friend Toshal was recorded in the CCTV camera.

Police said that both have been arrested.

The duo in their Volkswagen car bearing registration number GJ 06 HD 1483 was trying to cross the Alkapuri underpass which was closed for maintenance work. When traffic constable Vijay Singh tried to stop them, they beat him up. Krutarth even threatened him taking the name of a former minister claiming him to be his close relative.

Notably, another traffic constable Shantilal Parmar was beaten up by a mob for almost an hour near Kapurai crossing on Tuesday when three youths riding a motorcycle allegedly fell down following his signal to stop them.

Police later arrested four people including a woman in this connection. Forty people have been booked. The video footage of the incident went viral over social media and the news channels.
