After getting excellent response from the people of Kutch and Saurashtra, a newly started Port Okha – Mandvi ferry service is non-operational due to breakdown in engine. The company may need to call foreign technician for repair which is why bookings are closed for now.
As the ferry boat suffered breakdown couple of days back at Port Okha, return journey was not possible for those who arrived here from Mandvi. The company therefore made arrangements for return journey by road for those in need.
The service has received overwhelming response so far. If it is operated on regular and reliable basis without technical failures, it can be very useful for people of Kutch who want to catch any of 16 trains operated from Okha railway station.
