Dr Manmohan Singh’s Gujarat visit canceled, Vaghela red-faced

Dr. Manmohan Singh’s scheduled visit to Gujarat tomorrow has been canceled.

Former Prime Minister was to inaugurate new building of Samarpan Education Campus. He was also going to attend Gujarat Knowledge Village Award function. These campuses are associated with Shankersinh Vaghela run trusts. Dr Manmohan Singh was also going to attend Manav Seva Sannidhi’s artificial limb camp in Shahibaug area.

Leader of opposition in Gujarat and Congress leader Shankersinh Vaghela today in a bitter statement alleged that Dr. Manmohan Singh had to cancel his Gujarat visit due to conspiracy of Special Protection Group(SPG) which manages his security.

He said SPG’s all conditions were fulfilled and invitations for the event were also distributed. After so much expenditure and preparations, the visit was canceled at last time. It seems the SPG that functions under Prime Minister’s office applied brakes.

Vaghela alleged that BJP national president Amit Shah is coming to Gujarat to remind Godhra train boggy on 27 February and to escape comparison with Dr Manmohan Singh, BJP has managed to postpone Dr Manmohan Singh’s visit through SPG and local police.
