Prohibitory orders and mobile internet ban in Mahesana on February 28

Mahesana

The district administration of Mahesana has ordered to impose prohibitory orders under section 144 of the IPC and a 12 hours ban on the use of mobile internet and social networking site on February 28 in the wake of the adamant stance of the Patidar Anamat Aandolan Samiti (PAAS) to hold a Patidar women’s conference despite denial of official permission on the same day in this north Gujarat town.

SP Mahesana Chaitanya Mandlik today said that the decision has been taken in the wake of the adamant stance of the organizers as well as to check corrupt practices in the Talati exam to be held on the same day.

‘The Mamlatdar had already denied permission for the women’s conference and rally proposed to be held on a party plot in the town,’ he said adding that a public order in this regard has also been issued by the district collector.

‘The mobile internet would be banned from 8 am to 8pm,’ the SP said.

PAAS, which is running a quota stir for the Patidar or Patel community has announced to hold the women conference in the town, a known hub of the community despite denial of permission posing a law and order threat for the administration.
