Fire in apartment in Gurukul area of Ahmedabad, Father-daughter die

A man and his five year old daughter today died in an incident of fire in Gurukul area of Ahmedabad city.
The fire broke out in the three storied Rajhans apartment early morning most likely due to short circuit. The fire soon engulfed the entire building in which people from the same family live in different flats.
Police said that while most of the other occupants of the building managed to escape Niral Rajpal and his five year old daughter Araina were trapped and died. His wife has also sustained serious burn injuries and been admitted to a hospital here.
The fire spread quickly in the apartment owing to lot of wood-work in it, police said adding the incident was being investigated in detail.
