A lady TV anchor of a local Gujarati TV channel committed suicide in a flat in Bodakdev area of the city where she lived as a paying guest, police said today.
Karishma Bhatt (23), whose father is an employee in postal department in Gondal town of Rajkot, hanged herself last night in a flat of Prince apartment in Judges bungalow road under Vastrapur police station area.
She has left some suicide notes of which one has allegedly been written to a boy requesting him to delete ‘some’ picture from his laptop. She has however not held anyone responsible for the suicide. The boy has been identified as a engineering college drop-out and resident of Ambaliyasan in Mahesana district.
The deceased, who was pursuing distant education MCA course from a Hyderabad based institute has also written separately to her parents and younger sister which prima facie indicates that she must have been in severe depression. She has mentioned that she could not fulfill the dreams of her parents. One of the suicide notes was badly torn and was virtually unreadable.
Police did not rule out depression caused by a failed love affair or work related pressure as a reason behind the dastardly act. The matter was being investigated.
