No radiation within or around the plant at Kakrapar: Collector

District Collector of Tapi in south Gujarat today interacting to media persons clarified that there was no radiation within or around the Kakrapar Atomic Energy plant today morning as thanks to the inbuilt safety system, the unit shut down automatically after leakage which was negligible.
Collector Dr Rajendrakumar further said that the leakage in primary heat transport system of unit-1 has not caused any problem. Core cooling process of reactor is on. Site director is in contact.
He said there’s no reason for worry or fear unnecessarily.
