Patna

Speaking at centenary celebrations of Patna High Court in Bihar, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi today suggested that courts should issue bulletins and share the details of their oldest pending case.

He said this would create atmosphere that will inspire to work in direction of result oriented approach to solve the pendency issue.

The Prime Minister stressed on use of technology for speedy justice.

He recalled the role of lawyers in India’s freedom struggle in last century.

The Prime Minister stressed on adding life to the system.

He said: I visited a village where literacy percentage was merely 30-32%, and I came to know that the same village had 120-year old school. It means that there was a school in this village over a century ago, but people were not educated. Merely having a system is not enough, it has to be effective, efficient, strong and has to have life.

The Prime Minister asked bar and bench to lay strong foundations for next 100-year based on previous 100-year experiences to achieve further deep faith of common citizen in system and democracy.
