The prosecution has not opposed the conditional bail pleas of the three jailed Patidar quota stir leaders Chirag Patel, Dinesh Patel and Ketan Patel in the sedition case lodged by crime branch of Ahmedabad police here.
Public Prosecutor Sudhir Bhahmbhatt today said that in the view of the written assurance given by the trio to not to indulge in such activities if granted bail and to obey the conditions put forth by the court for the bail the prosecution did not opposed their bail pleas.
‘We informed the court today that we have no objection to the conditional bail in the view of the written submissions by the three accused,’ Mr. Brahmbhatt said.
In the wake of this stance of the prosecution the likelihood of the trio celebrating Holi/Dhuleti with their families is looking as a strong possibility.
The court of ADJ N G Dave today reserved his verdict on bail plea of the trio to be pronounced on March 21 couple of days before Holi/Dhuleti.
The prosecution had vehemently opposed the bail plea of Hardik in the same case saying looking at his behaviour inside the jail he might tamper with the important evidences and indulge in similar activities if granted bail. The court had rejected his bail.
The trio, in their written submission has said that they will follow all the conditions put forth by the court for bail. They have also given assurance to the court to not to indulge in any activity which might cause unrest in the society.
The case was filed by the crime branch here on October 21 last year against Hardik and five of his aides two of whom Amrish Patel and Alpesh Kathiria had been declared absconders.
Hardik is currently lodged in Lajpore central jail of Surat while Chirag, Ketan and Dinesh are in Sabarmati jail here.
