Ahmedabad
Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIMA), one of the top business schools in the country, today announced to increase the fees for its two year Post Graduate Programs (PGP) applicable from 2016-18 batch.
A statement issued by the institute today said, ‘ IIMA Board has approved the increase of fees for its two year
post-graduate programs to Rs 19.50 Lakh from Rs 18.50 Lakh. The enhanced fee is applicable from 2016-18 batch.
The amount is cumulative fee for both years, including tuition, academic support (case materials, books, etc.), accommodation, basic health care, medical insurance, and alumni association membership fee.’

Justifying the fee hike the statement further said, ‘IIMA fee increases have tended to lag inflation rate over the past several years. Taking 2009 as base, even with the proposed increase, 2016-18 fee would be 10% lower in inflation
adjusted terms compared to 2009-11 fee. Institute costs have been rising in step with inflation. Although we continue to drive for efficiency, part of the cost increase is reflected in fee increase.’
“The Institute feels a moral commitment to ensure that all deserving candidates that are admitted to the two year post-graduate programs (PGP and PGP-FABM) avail of the program irrespective of their economic circumstances. Towards that objective, we are committed to continue offering deserving students the most generous scholarship scheme among management schools in India. For 2016-17, financial aid is being offered to 251 PGP and PGP-FABM students, which is 29% of the total student strength,” the statement quoted Prof. Ashish Nanda, Director, IIMA as saying.
