BJP national president Amitbhai Shah will arrive here this evening on a three day visit of his home state Gujarat where he is slated to participate in a farmers rally of the party in Kadodara of Surat.
This is second Gujarat visit of Mr. Shah in less than a month after his earlier visit last month, the first one post his re-election as BJP president.
BJP state media convener Harshad Patel today said that Mr. Shah would arrive at around 7 pm this evening. He would go to Surat for the farmers rally tomorrow and later in the afternoon would come back here to participate in the inaugural function of an state-of-the-art bus terminal of Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation in Ranip.
Mr Patel said that Mr. Shah would leave for Delhi on March 28.
Earlier Mr. Shah was accorded grand welcome on February 27 on his arrival here as the first visit after being re-elected as BJP president.
Mr. Shah’s participation in the Farmer’s rally of BJP in Surat has special significance as the ruling party is organizing a series of 8 such rallies in various parts of the state to virtually repair the dent in its vote-bank in rural areas during the local body polls in November last year. The final such rally in North Gujarat will be held day after tomorrow.
