Mahesana
The Mahesana district administration has denied permission to the jail bharo campaign of the Sadar Patel Group slated to be held here tomorrow.
Collector Lochan Sehra said that the Mamlatdar Vipul Thakkar has denied permission for the programme.
‘They had given an application for permission on April 11 to the Mamlatdar and later on seeking clarification informed that they plan to hold a meeting and then a rally and later go to the local jail to get in to it. This is thoroughly illegal and in a sense anti national. It can’t be allowed. How can one go to a jail and get in to it forcefully. So the Mamlatdar has denied permission,’ Mr. Sehra said adding that strong action will be taken against those trying to do so.

Meanwhile SPG spokesperson Purvin Patel said that the campaign meant for Mahesana only would take place despite the denial.
‘This is a civil disobedience like programme and we are moving ahead with it. We will hold the meeting and take a rally to radhanpur road where the central jail is situated,’ he said.
SPG has announced the programme demanding release of jailed Patidar quota stir leaders and withdrawal of agitation related cases.
