Gujarat Power Minister condemns allegations made by Jairam Ramesh

Gujarat Power Minister Mr. Saurabh Patel condemned the allegations made by Former Union Minister Mr. Jairam Ramesh and said that the Congress will never cover their biggest scams like 2-G, call allocation etc by degrading the successful public venture in power and petroleum sector like G.S.P.C.

Mr. Patel said that people of India appointed Mr. Narendra Modi as a Prime Minister of India by giving clear majority against the corrupted reign of U.P.A. and the NDA government has enhanced reputation of the nation in the world by its outstanding achievements in power and petroleum sector within just two years. He clearly said that these are baseless allegations against Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation (GSPC) which has been serving people of Gujarat since 40 years. Congress is raising false issues related to GSPC, but the people of Gujarat understand their tricks.

By condemning the allegations made by the Former Union Minister Mr. Jairam Ramesh regarding the work done by GSPC in Egypt, Mr. Patel said that it is unworthy to make false allegation rather than pride on the work done by GSPC in K.G. Basin and Egypt. The bank guarantee has been released by the Egypt Government after auditing of the work and expenditure made by GSPC in Egypt. This shows that the Egypt Government had never released the bank guarantee if the work would have not been done in right direction.

Mr. Patel further said that GSPC has never got the work in Egypt without doing anything. The Egypt Government has organized an international bid for this work and the GSPC proved its suitability by taking part in this bid. Furthermore, the Director General of India is giving permission for such work; on the other hand in Egypt the GANOPE which is the controlling authority of their government gives such permissions. The GANOPE has completely investigated about the suitability and the expenditure made by GSPC.

He said that GSPC believes in strictly following the defined procedures. The Congress Government and its leaders have made several scams, while at the other hand the GSPC and the State Government has never allocated any contract or resources to any person or company. As far as about the issue of platform rig, the GSPC has made pursuance of proper tendering and has selected lowest bidder (L1) tough company for the construction of platform rigs. However, as the company failed to perform satisfactory, the contract was cancelled and its bank guarantee worth Rs. 15 crore was also seized. After that the second lowest bidder (L2) company was given the contract on the same rate as L1. The procedure adopted by the GSPC is absolutely correct and true and it is as per the rules and regulations made by the Union Government for the production sharing contract.

Mr. Patel further said that the then Chief Minister and the Prime Minister of India Mr. Narendra Modi has made efforts on Gas based economy to make the dream come true and the GSPC has made big contribution in it. The company has extended gas to each house of 15 lakh families of 19 districts across Gujarat through its 2500 km long gas grid. The company is distributing natural gas for vehicles through 241 CNG stations to protect the environment. GSPC is the biggest company across the nation who distributes household gas and industrial gas. No other Indian company has done such a commendable work than GSPC.
