Former Union Minister and Senior Congress leader Manish Tiwary today said that those claiming after the party’s weak performance in the recent assembly polls in five states that it was facing ‘major crisis’ should be laughed at.
Talking to newsmen here Mr Tiwary said that elections are won and lost. Any defeat is not permanent. ‘But if it is dubbed as if it has caused a major crisis within the party, then there can’t be a more ludicrous thing than this,’ he said.
He said that Congress party still has presence across the length and breadth of the country. ‘We are still present in every village from Jammu & Kashmir to Kanyakumari,’ Mr. Tiwary said.

Claiming that the former UPA government led by congress at center use to hear the opposition, Mr. Tiwary alleged that the current NDA regime was shameless and want to remain clinged with the chair at any cost. The people of the country will give its arrogance a befitting reply in the coming days.
Talking about the two years of the Modi government, the Congress leader claimed that it has failed on all the five points deemed the main measures of success of any government which are- to maintain the Communal Harmony, Political Stability, Economic Growth, Internal Security and Foreign Policy.
He said that there was total ambiguity on policy with regard to China and Pakistan. The real estate sector has collapsed. Agriculture sectors growth rate was just 1.1 %, 33 % part of the country was under severe drought. The NDA government was using the governors and its machinery to destabilize opposition party’s governments in the states. Intolerance was prevalent and internal security has also collapsed with terror attacks like Pathankot and Gurdaspur.
