Gujarat Congress holds more district wise Lok Darbars, attacks BJP govt

Rajkot

As Gujarat election is one and half year away, both BJP and Congress have started holding various kinds of programmes across the state.

On Congress part, the major attention is being given to ‘Lok darbar’ events at district headquarters. Every event is attended by party’s state leadership, mainly state party president Bharat Solanki and leader of opposition Shankersinh Vaghela.

Two such Lok Darbars were held today in Rajkot district and Rajkot city today.

Speaking at Lok Darbar, state Congress president Bharatsinh Solanki said it would have been better if Rs 33,000 relief given to Tata Motors for its plant and Rs 20,000 spent for gas by GSPC could be spent for people to address the issue of water shortage. Solanki said over 6 lakh students in primary schools don’t know how to write. RSS and Hindu Mahasabha was aligned with Britishers during freedom struggle. BJP leaders and cadre enjoy 30% commission in so called infrastructure projects.

Leader of opposition Shankersinh Vaghela said Gujarat has BJP government for last two and half decades but still the ruling party blames Congress for failures.

Former Gujarat Congress president Arjun Modhwadia raised question whether BJP would fulfill its promises on support price of cotton, black money, action against criminals or would give cover to Lalit Modi and Vijay Mallyas?

According to Gujarat Congress, the Lok Darbar event received various complains including complain regarding no new GIDC in Rajkot since 20 years, absence of container depot, modernization of airport and protest against Raiya road over bridge by locals.
