A local court here today rejected the pleas of Patidar quota stir agitators, Chirag Patel and Dinesh Patel, to modify the conditions of their bail in the sedition case in which they have been granted bail by the high court with some riders including not to leave the place where they had agreed to live during the period of trial.
The district and sessions court where the duo along with their aide Ketan Patel (who has also got conditional bail from the high court in the case) appeared today, fixed the next date of hearing on June 17.
Hardik Patel, one of the total six accused including the trio in the Patidar quota agitation violence related sedition case lodged by the crime branch of Ahmedabad police who has not got bail and is lodged in Lajpore central jail of Surat, could not be produced in the court here today.
Investigating officer of the case J S Gedam said that Chirag and Dinesh had sought modification in the bail conditions to allow them to move out of station for work. The court rejected their plea.
They will again appear before the court on June 17 when Hardik is also likely to be produced.
Earlier on May 18, Dinesh had verbally requested the court to allow him to move out of station as he had run out of money and it was proving difficult for him to even meet his advocate. The court and the government pleader had suggested him to take the services of free legal aid system in that case.
