Venkaiah Naidu visits Rajkot

Union minister Shri M. Venkaiah Naidu was in Rajkot today. Naidu inaugurated 15338 housing units that are part of affordable housing scheme sanctioned under Pradhan Mantri Aavas Yojana. He said total units sanctioned are 6488 under this Yoajana.

Naidu said Rajkot is showing the way to others in the use of Public Private Partnership(PPP) model as 2700 affordable housing units are constructed with no added financial burden to beneficiaries and municipal corporation.

Naidu launched Swachch App and online portal for Rajkot Municipal Corporation(RMC). He said through Swachch mobile application, citizens can geotag the location and send the garbage photos to civic body for necessary action. The online portal allows for booking of 27 community halls and investors facilitation.

Naid was impressed as he saw walls painted with beautiful pictures by citizens who volunteered for it. Naidu was told that 6,000 such paintings are done across the city by forming local associations.

Naidu addressed a gathering after dedicating Economic Weaker Section(EWS) and Lower Income Group(LIG) affordable housing units constructed under Mukhyamantri Gruh Yojana.

Naidu addressed a press conference which was briefly disturbed by Congress workers who barged in. Naidu said Shri Narendra Modi is fourth great leader Gujarat has produced after Mahatma Gandhi, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and Morarjibhai Desai.

Minister of State for Finance,, Jayant Sinha was also present during Naidu’s Rajkot visit.
