Sabarmati riverfront to be extended upto Indira and Shastri bridges

Ahmedabad:
In a board meeting of Sabarmati River Front Corporation in Ahmedabad a decision was taken that the riverfront will be extended to Indira Bridge on northern direction and upto Shastri bridge in southern direction. For development toward Indira Bridge, permission will be taken from Defence department as the land on river bank is under Cantonment board.
In other decisions taken in meeting, the plan for amusement park has been dropped while for floating restaurant, the tender process will be initiated again.
To attract the investors, Riverfront meet will be organized before or after the Vibrant Gujarat summit. Auction of 14.5% land which comes to 2,43,000 square meter will take place after Riverfront meet.
The meeting also discussed Jammu civic body’s proposal for guidance regarding construction of riverfront there.
