June 20, 2016
Gandhinagar:
As per a book published by union power ministry titling ‘State Distribution Utilities Fourth Annual Integrated Rating’, all four government run power companies of Gujarat have achieved A rating. None other power company outside Gujarat has been able to get A+ rating.
The companies are PGVCL, DGVCL, MGVCL and UGVCL.
Rating procedure is conducted by credible institutions. Power companies that secure 80-100 marks get A+ rating while those getting 60-80 marks are given A rating.
According to power minister Saurabh Patel, under Congress led UPA government only four out of 39 power distribution companies have achieved A+ rating and all of them from Gujarat. Same companies achieved A+ rating again in 2014 and now in 2015.
