Gujarat cabinet reviews monsoon, takes decisions on recruitment waiting list, road repair

Gandhinagar: Gujarat government today announced two decisions taken by first cabinet meet chaired by new Chief Minister Vijay Rupani.

Existing ratio of 10% waiting list in class-3 direct recruitment has been scaled up to 20%. With this, if direct recruited employee leaves the job within one year for any reason, the vacant seat will be allowed to be filled through waiting list of candidates of same category. Implementation of this decision will be done with immediate effect.

The cabinet reviewed the situation of monsoon. Reservoirs across the state have 64% inflow due to rains. 73.4% area has witnessed sowing. Tuver, ground nut and other crops have witness increase in area.

According to Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel, the cabinet approved Rs 26 crore road and bridge repair works for flood-hit South Gujarat. The works will kick off with immediate effect.
