August 09, 2016
Gandhinagar: When asked about BJP’s target for year 2017 assembly general elections, new Chief Minister of Gujarat Vijay Rupani in a TV interview said party’s target will be to win more seats than it has presently.
Rupani said his party would definitely win the next assembly polls in Gujarat.
He said party will decide who would be the face for assembly polls.
When asked whether Kejriwal is any challenge, he replied: I don’t consider Kejriwal as challenge at all. That is because he has failed in Delhi and not kept promises. I have full faith on People of Gujarat. The way they have voted in the past we have full faith. People of Gujarat will not allow any gimmick.
Rupani said Gujarat is Gandhi, Sardar and Modi’s Gujarat. It can’t be allowed to go down. The development march of the state would further touch new heights.
He said the throne in Gandhinagar is like Vikramaditya’s throne as Narendra Modi was sitting there. Good things will come from there, he added.
When asked about BJP’s poor performance in rural Gujarat in Panchayat polls, Rupani pointed out that his party had won all elections after that in Gujarat.
