AMC seals over 200 units on fire safety issue

Ahmedabad: The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) today sealed over 200 commercial units of five buildings across the city for non-compliance of the fire safety norms.
The AMC team sealed 73 units of Samarpan tower in Ghatlodia, 10 in block D and 7 in block E of Setu Verika in Gota, 94 in Ghewar complex in Shahibaug and 23 in Swastik complex of Shahpur.
A statement issued by the corportion said that the 207 units sealed today had been issued notice to become fire saftey compliant but they have not taken note of it. The sealing was done as the Gujart High Court where the matter related to fire safety in various high rises in the city is subjudice issues directions time to time for strict action against those who don’t obtain NOC for the same.
