3 sweepers suffocate to death inside party plot gutter in Vadodara

Vadodara: Three sweepers died a tragic death owing to suffocation inside a gutter in a private party plot in Harni road area of the city today, police said.

Ramesh Solanki (42) a sweeper with the Vadodara Municipal Corporation along with two private sweepers Rahul Solanki (26) and Pradip Solanki (30) had entered in to a gutter of a private party plot to clean it.

However all the three suffocated to death owing to presence of poisonous gas inside the gutter, police said adding that such gas in gutters and long time closed wells was common thing.

The matter was being investigated.
