SMC starts using plastic waste for road construnction

Surat: Surat Municipal Corporation(SMC) has started using plastic waste for making roads. SMC has selected Amroli-Sayan road for experiment of this technique in which plastic waste will me mixed with conventional material. SMC spends around Rs 200 crore every year for building roads. Most roads however are found in poor condition post monsoon. New municipal commissioner has taken this matter seriously and asked to do new experiment fo using plastic waste to strengthen the roads. Plastic material to be used for this initiative will cme from Khajod solid waste site. Kosad housing BRTS road will see partial implementation of this new technique.
