SMC plans Rs 300 crore grand stadium in Surat

Surat: Surat Municipal Corporation(SMC) has planned Rs 300 crore outdoor stadium project in Town Planning scheme 9 near Bhesan over 93,561 square meter area. SMC has invited expression of interest for this project. Two agencies have show interest in this project. They are Transtadia Ahmdabad and Singapore based ONG and ONG group. If everything goes as per plan, the project will complete in three years period after construction is kicked off. The stadium once ready will be able to host 16 types of games including cricket, football, volleyball, basket ball, archery, shooting, swimming, lawn tennis, badminton, table tennis, squash, boxing, running, kabaddi and kho kho. The project is still in planning stage and pre-construnction works like feasibility report, transaction advisory work through consultant, financial analysis, PPP model structuring, lease period finalization. The project will have club house, sports academy, gymnasium, swimming pool, restaurant, hall, conference hall, lodging facility.
