Mahesana/Ahmedabad: A senior delegation of Congress leaders including political advisor of Sonia Gandhi, Ahmed Patel, GPCC president Bharatsinh Solanki and leader of opposition in Gujarat assembly Shankersinh Vaghela today took stock of the preparations for the upcoming rally of their national vice president Rahul Gandhi here on December 21.
Mr Solanki later said that Mr Gandhi will arrive Ahmedabad airport on December 21 either by a special aircraft or a regular one and then move to Mahesana by chopper.
‘He will address the Navsarjan Gujarat rally at around one pm at the ground off the Radhanpur road,’ Mr Solanki said.
To a query regarding the media reports of Congress party’s oder for large scale Patidar caps, the GPCC president said that it was not true as the Patidars were capable of doing that at their own.
On being asked whether the Patidars have agreed to support the rally of Mr Gandhi, Mr Solanki only said that he hoped so.
To another query regarding the possible number of people attending the rally, he said that he was unable to anything as he was not a fortune-teller.
Earlier, talking to newsmen in Mahesana Mr Patel said that top Congress leaders like Late Rajiv Gandhi and Late Mrs Indira Gandhi had also visited North Gujarat and addressed rallies here.
To a question regarding demonetization Mr Patel said that people were suffering because of the unplanned implementation of the move.
