January 02, 2017
Gandhinagar: Reacting to yesterday’s dharna incident in Gandhinagar by fix pay employees, Gujarat govt today said some elements who want to disturb peaceful atmosphere in the state are desperate to win credit when government’s approach is positive and government is already in process to file affidavit in the Supreme Court on January 10.
Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patelsaid: We are moving ahead in direction to do whatever necessary for fix wage employees working with the state government. The matter is presently pending in the Supreme Court and Gujarat govt is going to file affidavit on January 10. Some elements are attempting to disturb the atmosphere of peace, unity and security in the state for last many months. Such elements have failed in their design to spark off trouble between different sections of society in the past. Gujarat’s wise people have not allowed them to get success. Such elements are now trying to use government employees and spreading misinformation. They are trying to harm peaceful atmosphere in Gujarat. People will never tolerate such designs. Gujarat government has recruited over 67,000 employees in one year, of whom 27,000 have been appointed already. The government is trying its best to employ more and more educated youths while such elements are misleading the youths.
He further said: After a gap of 25 years, Gujarat government has been into such a massive recruitment drive. The government wants to recruit even more in upcoming time. The government pays more than Rs 3,000 crore pay and pension every months to over 4.5 lakh employees and 4.12 lakh pensioners. Gujarat government has displayed positive approach to give more pay and perks to young employees and is in process to file affidavit in Supreme Court, while some elements are trying to earn credit. Employees should not allow others to mislead them and must not become tool of such elements who are against Gujarat’s peace and security.
