CCTV footage of Surat Youth Congress president’s brother beating neighbor brutally goes viral

Surat: The police in Olpad area of Surat district is trying to nab the main culprit and brother of district youth congress wing president Pradeep Sindhav alias Bharvad in connection with the incident of brutal beating of his neighbour, the CCTV footage of which has gone viral.

Harish Bharvad had beaten up his neighbour in ward number 8 of Delad village in the night of December 30 for allegedly not supporting his brother (Pradeep) who could not contest the December 27 village panchayat election as a local candidate. The incident took place on the day the results for the polls were declared in which BJP supported Jainish Patel won.

The brutal beating of Parimalsinh Rana (40) by 25 year old Harish was caught on the CCTV camera and went viral on social media. Parimal is still under treatment for fractures in a private hospital in Surat.

Investigating officer of the case and ASI Olpad Nail Govindbhai said that the co-accused in the case and Harish’s father Babubhai Bharvad, who had threatened the victim, was arrested the very next day on December 31 and was released on bail on the next day. ‘We have lodged a case under section 323, 325, 504, 506 (2) 114 of the IPC and section 135 of the Gujarat Police act in the matter. We are trying to nab Harish who was at large,’ he said.

Notably in July this year Pardeep was arrested along with four other persons for allegedly gambling in Sayan village near the city. He was elected president of Surat youth congress in 2015.
