Stone pelting on bank in Banaskantha, Congress leader, others detained for lock-out of another branch in Porbandar

Palanpur/Porbandar: An unruly mob today attacked a bank in Khimana town of Banaskantha district in North Gujarat while police detained 23 people including a local Congress leader in Modhwana village of Porbandar district in Saurashtra for trying to lock-out a public sector bank.
Police said that some people pelted stone and attacked the Khimana branch of Dena Bank alleging that the bank officials were into malpractices and not giving cash to locals. The branch manager has registered a case in this regard after police resorted to mild baton charge to disperse the unruly mob.
In yet another incident local Congress leader Ramdhev Modhwadiya was nabbed with 22 others for trying to lock out the local branch of Bank of India in Modhwana village. The locals claimed that the bank had stopped distribution of coupons for cash withdrawal suddenly which led to protest.
PSI of Bagwadar police station Shantiben Odedara said that 23 people including the congress leader were detained for the incident.
