January 25, 2017
Ahmedabad: While Gujarat BJP has announced that it is going to hold a yatra covering eastern tribal belt of the state from February 7 and it will be led by state party president, the Congress party today announced that it will also hold Adivasi yatra and it will begin on April 2 from Ambaji.
The Congress party in its statement said that it had in the past made announcement on proposed yatra but due to gram panchayat polls and demonetization the yatra couldn’t take place. The party will now organize Navsarjan Adivasi Adhikar Yatra on 2nd April from Ambaji which will conclude at Shabaridham in district Dang in South Gujarat on April 14. The yatra according to Congress statement will cover 14 districts and more than 38 assembly seats.
The party also announced that it will hold training camps of 15-15 members per booth in each assembly seat area.
These decisions were taken at a meeting in State party headquarters in Ahmedabad in presence of more than 300 partymen led by State party president Solanki.
