BJP warns Congress to pay back in the same coin after Surat incident

Gandhinagar: A day after the incident of garlanding Railway minister Suresh Prabhu with black cloth by Congress Workers in Surat, ruling BJP in Gujarat today warned the main opposition party that it also can also pay back in the same coin.

BJP state president Jeetu Vaghani today termed the incident as a cowardice act by the desperate Congress.

He said that Congress should not compel the BJP activists to retaliate in the same ‘language’. ‘If such reactionary things happen in Congress functions, the responsibility will be theirs (Congress),’ Vaghani said.

Congress workers yesterday garlanded Railways Minister Suresh Prabhu with a black cloth. They reached near Prabhu by posing as the supporters of BJP, taking police by surprise. Around a dozen Congress workers were detained by police after the incident which occurred in Nanpura locality as soon as Prabhu stepped out of his vehicle, protesters garlanded him with the black cloth and also offered him a lollipop.

The security lapse was also being investigated by the Surat police.
