Ahmedabad to get third RTO office at Bavla; GJ-28 code to be introduced
February 14, 2017
Ahmedabad: After two existing RTO offices in place at Subhas Bridge and Vastral, the city of Ahmedabad will soon have its third RTO office at Bavla. Like Vastral, the facility at Bavla too will be a sub-office of main Ahmedabad RTO at Subash Bridge. Applications for all heavy vehicles at other two RTO offices will be diverted to Bavla facility. Moreover the facility will also serve license and other needs for two, three and four wheeler vehicles. The new RTO sub office will mainly benefit nearby Dholka, Changodar, Bagodra, Sanand and Dhandhuka areas. At present there are two RTO codes in Ahmedabad; GJ -1 for vehicles registered at Subhas Bridge RTO office and GJ – 27 for vehicles registered at Vastral RTO sub office. With Bavla facility likely to be functional by middle of this year, there will be third vehicle registration number plate code in implementation which shall be GJ – 28. For the first time in Gujarat, drivers seeking license to drive heavy vehicles like truck and buses will need to clear a 24-step driving test at Bavla facility, as a special track for this purpose has been created here.
