Vaghani warns Congress against targeting political leader’s family, private residence during political protests

Gandhinagar: Gujarat BJP today slammed Congress party for its ‘failed attempt’ to reach residence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 95-year old mother Hiraba for protest.

State party president Jitubhai Vaghanai slamming the opposition party said, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s mother Hiraba and her family live like a common family. The entire family keeps distance from politics. Their life style is very much like any other common citizen. People of this country are very well aware that how earlier prime ministers and their families used to live in grand way and enjoy all government facilities. People of Gujarat are shocked to see a low level approach of Gujarat Congress which involves 95-year old Hiraba in political protest programme. Congress has displayed its low level mentality by doing so.”

Vaghani said, “if 1 crore primary members of BJP start going at homes of Congress leaders, it will become difficult to even step-out of home for Congress leaders. However we believed its improper. Out Samskar stop us from giving such response. Gujarat Congress president’s father and former chief minister Madhavisnhji Solanki lives in Gandhinagar, but BJP has never dragged family in protest programmes. It is the responsibility of political party leaders to maintain Gujarat’s political, social traditions and samskar. Congress should take political, social tradition of Gujarat and civility into consideration and stay away from giving protest programmes against residences and family members of political opponents.”

In reference to Gujarat Congress’s announcement that it is going to hold ‘Naliya Yatra’ starting from Kutch, Vaghani said: Which types of negative programmes Congress party gives? Which types of yatra they want to organize? What kind of message they want to give to society? Congress is attempting to defame Gujarat’s Samskarita and Asmita. On one hand BJP under my leadership holds Gaurav Yatra for tribals, the Congress party holds yatra which would cause further pain to sensitivity of victim in connection with Naliya issue. Congress’s dirty and weak mentality is reflected and its low level is in full display. BJP organization and government’s programms are always pro-people but Congress gives negative programmes to defame Gujarat. Congress always looks for creating controversies and animosity. Congress had created hurdles against progress of Narmada project while BJP government has setup a network of irrigation upto Kutch.

In reference to leader of opposition Shankersinh Vaghela’s charge that he has sex CDs of 12 ministers, Vaghani said, “BJP has already challenged the leader of opposition Shankersinh Vaghela that if he has CDs of dozen ministers he should make them public. But it seems Vaghela’s statement displays internal politics of Congress. It appears that there’s groupism and internal fight within the Congress party over the issue of who will become Chief Ministerial candidate of Congress party. Perhaps opposition leader will have CDs of Congress people and he may have triggered internal politics of Congress. People are discussing so,” Vaghani said apparently in connection with rivalary between Shankersinh Vaghela and Bharatsinh Solanki over Chief Ministerial candidate positioning before polls.
