Gujarat Assembly passes three more bills

Gandhinagar: Gujarat assembly today passed amendment bill for COTPA 2003. MoS for Home, Pradipsinh Jadeja who moved the bill said that the bill proposes to ban hookah bars in Gujarat completely.
The assembly today also passed the bill proposing amendment in Fojdari Karyariti Kayda 2017. Jadeja while moving the bill said the high court had proposed to implement electronic video linkage for witness’s statement in presence of lawyer. With the use of information and communication technology, the process of justice will be speedier. It will help to reduce the delay in court process and save time.
The amendment has been made in Fojdari Karyariti Adhiniyam 197 provisions, section 273, 278, 291 and 317.
Another bill passed today in the assembly was regarding legalizing the residential units on state government owned 33,88,374 square meter land in five municipal corporation areas under Gujarat(Shaheri Jamin Toch Maryada and Niyaman)1976.
