Close on heels of Rajkot ATM loot incident, another ATM targeted in Bhavnagar

Bhavnagar: Even as the crime branch of Rakot police is yet to make a breakthrough in the Rs 18.30 lakh loot from an ATM of Axis bank in the city yesterday, another ATM was targeted by looters in Bhavnagar town of Saurashtra in the wee hours today.

PI of D-division police station of Bhavnagar G R Rabari today said that 2 lakh cash was taken away by the masked looter from one of the two ATM’s of SBI in the same kiosk situated on Rajkot road. ‘We are trying to nab the culprit whose activity has been captured in the CCTV. He cut open the ATM cash vault with a gas cutter and took away the money,’ the PI said adding that the incident seemingly happened at around 0230 am in the wee hours today.

Interestingly the same modus operandi was used for cutting the Axis bank ATM in Kotharia road of Rajkot yesterday. Police was yet clueless about the culprit and was taking the help of FSL experts to solve the case. The looter in Rajkot had damaged the CCTV of the ATM before committing the crime.
