March 10, 2017
Ahmedabad: A cyclonic circulation over South West Rajasthan and neighbourhood has caused change in weather in many parts of Gujarat especially northern areas even as the state is experiencing unusually high minimum temperatures.
Some parts of North and South Gujarat today saw cloudy weather and light to medium intensity rain and thundershowers.
Director of the Ahmedabad Jayanta Sarkar today said that the cyclonic circulation over South West Rajasthan and neighbourhood has caused the change in weather.
‘According to our forecast this change in weather with some spells of lighter rain over parts of Gujarat especially north Gujarat is going to last for a day only,’ Sarkar said.
Meanwhile, while the cloudy weather has given some respite from unusually hot and sunny weather, the non-seasonal rain is likely to affect the mango-flowering adversely.
The maximum and minimum temperatures in the major cities of the state during last 24 hours was as following (in degree Celsius)- Ahmedabad 33.5, 20.8, Vadodara 33.4, 21.0, Rajkot 32.3, 19.5, Surat 32.8, 22.9 and Bhuj 32.8, 19.5.
