BJP MLA’s thump desks to rejoice UP/Uttarakhand victory in Gujarat assembly

Gandhinagar: The members of the ruling BJP today rejoiced the resounding victory of the party, in Utter Pradesh and Uttrakhand assembly polls in the Gujarat assembly.

When the house assembled after three days of break (during which the results were declared), today minister of parliamentary affairs Bhupendrasinh Chudasma formally informing the house about the party’s victory claimed that the BJP has now resolved to clinch over 150 seats in this year’s assembly elections in Gujarat (with total 182 seats).

The ruling party members thumped their desks to rejoice the victory of the party for which credits were given to prime minister Narendra Modi and BJP president Amit Shah (who himself was also a member of the assembly).

However, whip of the main opposition Congress Balwantsinh Rajput hit back at the ruling party saying that the BJP should not be too happy about UP/Uttarakhand victory. ‘You have seen a humiliating defeat in Punjab too and it would be repeated in Gujarat also. Don’t be too happy,’ he jibed.
