Viramgam (Gujarat): PAAS leader Harik Patel, who is trying hard to revive his anarchist agitation, is facing opposition of the youths of his own Patel community in his home-town Viramgam.
The Patel youths in his home-town last evening organized a Shhudhhikaran or purification ceremony of a Sardar Patel statue which in their view had become impure owing to the touch of Hardik, who has misused funds of Patidar agitation and misled the youths of the community for his own benefit.
In Chandranagar area the youths washed Sardar Patel’s statue and also bathed it with Panchamrut as a symbolic purification procedure.
Jadavbhai Patel, Nirmal Patel, Ketan Patel, Baldevbhai Patel Bhavesh Patel and others including Chhota Hardik assembled near the statue and performed the ritual. They also shouted anti Hardik slogans and warned him against using the slogan ‘jay sardar’ for his own benefit.
They said that it was high time that the community must know the truth of Hardik Patel and his agitation. He was working for his own benefit by misleading the community in the name of quota stir. He has nothing to do with the welfare of the community but he was furthering his own agenda and leading luxurious life with luxury cars and other such things misusing the money collected in the name of the agitation.
Notably, Hardik is getting quite a lukewarm response since his return to Gujarat in January this year after spending six months outside the state as per his bail conditions in sedition cases.
Yesterday he had to postpone his meeting in Surat owing to not getting police permission for it. He has also been booked by Ramol police in Ahmedabad for inciting his supporters to attack a BJP corporator late last night.
