PM holds breakfast meeting with BJP MPs from Gujarat; assigns homework for ground level outreach

New Delhi: After meeting Uttar Pradesh MPs yesterday the Prime Minister today held breakfast meeting with BJP MPs from Gujarat, Rajasthan, Dadra Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu at his residence.

The PM met with nearly 50 MPs of which most were from Gujarat including Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha MPs.

Party veteran LK Advani, who represents Gandhinagar in Lok Sabha, attended PM Modi’s breakfast as did Union minister Smriti Irani. BJP chief Amit Shah was also present.

The BJP, which has governed Gujarat uninterrupted for 19 years has announced “Mission 150” – winning at least 150 of the state’s 182 assembly constituencies. The party currently has 123 seats.

It is learnt that the PM assigned responsibility of five assembly seats to each of Gujarat MPs.

The PM asked MPs to spend 72 hours in village panchayat starting from 6 April which is BJP’s foundation day and 14 April which is Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Jayanti. In a massive outreach drive conceived by PM, each party man be it organizational worker or elected representative in range from member of panchayat to  Member of Parliament will spend 72 hours at gram panchayat level and will stay there. Party worker will interact with the people and inform them about specific government schemes/initiative like Bhim app as an example.

BJP believes that benefits of central government schemes/initiatives that actually reached root level, contributed majorly to BJP’s victory in Uttar Pradesh.

PM may hold another breakfast meeting tomorrow – this time possibly with Rajasthan MPs.

The MPs in Gujarat are instructed to spend another 72 hours at booth level in their constituency.
