Hardik appears before crime branch, not arrested as IO was out of station

Ahmedabad: PAAS convener and Patidar quota stir leader Hardik Patel today appeared before the crime branch of Ahmedabad police here but was not arrested in the case recently lodged against him and around 60 others in Ramol police station in connection with attack on the house of a BJP corporator in Vastral area of the city.

Hardik, perhaps conscious of his deteriorating image among people after allegations of misuse of funds of quota stir and political motives in the name of agitation, came to the crime branch office in an auto-rickshaw rather than his luxurious fortuner vehicle. He also made his weekly appearance (every Monday) before the crime branch in the sedition case as per his bail condition.

ACP crime branch B C Solanki said that Hardik was not arrested today as the Investigating Officer of the case pertaining to the attack on residence of the corporator was out of station. ‘He will be called and nabbed once the officer comes back,’ he said.

Hardik on the occasion, was accompanied by some of his supporters and the co-accused in the case.

He, reiterated, that the case was false and he and his supporters were being implicated in it.
