Gujarat Assembly passes Town Planning and Urban Development amendment bill

Gandhinagar: Gujarat Assembly today passed Gujarat Nagar Rachna anne Shaheri Vikas(second amendment) bill 2017. Moving this bill, minister Shankar Chaudhary in his speech said the bill proposes to hand over the task of granting development permissions to officials of local authority in order to prevent delays. At present the approval for development plans is granted by Town Planning committees. This method causes delays in grant of approvals. The bill proposes to assign this responsibility to officials of local authority. The bill also proposes proper implementation of local area plans made by Ahmedabad Urban Development Authority(AUDA).
