Diu observer complete bandh

Diu: Tourist island Diu observed bandh on Monday against closure of liquor shops close to highway. As per Supreme Court order, the administration forced closure of wine shops that are within 500 meter distance from national highway.
11-km highway from Ghoghla check post to Tadd check post covers the area of Ghoghla, Diu, Fudam, Malala, Jolavadi, Dangarvadi etc areas. Due to imposition of highway rules, 40 meter space will need to be left on both sides of road. Diu district panchayat president, vice president, Diu municipality vice president, district BJP president, gram panchayat sarpanchs, chamber office bearers etc joined the procession in this regard.
