Ramol BJP coporator house attack case:PAAS convener Hardik Patel gets anticipatory bail
April 13, 2017
Ahmedabad:
A local court today granted anticipatory bail to Patidar Anamat Aandolan Samiti (PAAS) convener Hardik Patel in connection with the FIR lodged with Ramol police here on charges of rioting and arson against him and 59 others for creating ruckus outside the house of BJP corporator from Vastral area, Paresh Patel on March 20.
Additional Sessions Judge D P Mahida, who had reserved his verdict on April 7, today pronounced his judgement allowing the anticipatory bail plea of Hardik.
Hardik had moved to the court with this bail plea on March 28 through his advocate Rafik Lokhandwala.
Ramol police had arrested over a dozen accused in the case. The ruckus was allegedly created owing to a facebook post by the BJP corporator.
The probe of the matter has been transferred to crime branch. Hardik had earlier gone to crime branch to surrender in the matter but was not arrested as the investigating officer of the case was not present.
His counsel had argued that Hardik had been framed up as he was not present in the group which allegedly created the ruckus and burnt a BJP flag.
Hardik, who is out on bail in two sedition cases registered against him during his violent quota stir, has been ordered to make weekly presence before crime branch in Surat and Ahmedabad in this connection.
