Self styled scientist confesses of writing letter in name of ISIS himself, story of attack also fabricated

Surendranagar: The cyber cell of the crime branch of Ahmedabad police and special operation group (SOG) of Surendranagar police have solved the mystery of the alleged threat letter from terror outfit ISIS and attack over a self-styled researcher/scientist here and it has turned out that he had himself written the letter and lied about the attack in a desperate attempt to draw attention of the world towards his so-called researches on medication of HIV/AIDS and other deadly diseases.

Police today said that Dr Mukesh H Shukla was admitted in a hospital after the said chemical attack on him on April 21. He had claimed that three people had attacked him with some chemical spray and snatched his pen-drive, Aadhar card, Rs 24000 in cash and other documents while he was returning to his home from his office. He had said that the 52 GB pen drive taken away by the attackers, contained sensitive data about his HIV related research for which he was earlier threatened by ISIS last month through a letter written in Arabic found in his residential premises. He had said that the ISIS wanted his research work on HIV and had warned him of dire consequences if he did not hand it over to them. The letter and attack had put him in lime-light.

On detailed investigation, however, it has been found that it all was his own plot to draw attention of the world. ‘He had himself written the letter in English first and then translated it in Arabic with the help of Google translator. He had also used a pepper spray, which he had bought from a store in plush mall in vastrapur area of Ahmedabad, to make a story of attack on him,’ a police official of the Ahmedabad crime branch said.

Dr Shukla has admitted his wrong-doing saying that he was quite depressed that no one was taking notice of his so-called researches on HIV and other diseases for which he had devoted 28 years. He planned the trick to draw attention hoping that he will become famous world-over.
